My Commitment

Dear Kingston residents and ratepayers,

My name is Wandzia French. I have attended every single City of Kingston Council meeting personally for over a year and have read every Agenda. I have submitted questions to the Council every month. No other candidate for the Kingston 2024 election has done this.

So, what have l learnt from attending Kingston Council meetings?

Changes are being planned for you and me, as residents in Kingston, which will affect us, our businesses and our lives. When 73% of all our annual rates now go into staff wages…then, we have a problem.

I offer myself to represent you on Council, with my firm commitment to serve you and to protect your well-being. Kingston residents must come first.

What I Will Do:

  • Advocate for a rate freeze.
  • Double the Seniors Council rate rebate to $246.60.
  • Abolish Pet ownership registration fees for all seniors over 65
  • Remove the trader footpath usage fees and increase parking in shopping strips.
  • Retain your free parking amenity
  • Curtail the impact of inappropriate high rise developments
  • Save all our open spaces
  • Support all industries, businesses and manufacturers to live, prosper and succeed
  • Defend the right of women and girls in sport to have safe spaces
  • Support the right of men to be acknowledged at Kingston Council
  • Have all people treated equally by Kingston Council.
  • Rein in Council wasteful spending on obscure projects and promotions
  • Promote real support for small and family businesses and remove regulation
  • Focus on local issues not global issues

Who Am !?

My name is Wandzia French. I have been a long-time resident in Kingston for over 40 years. This is my home. My stomping ground. I have also been married for 40+ years and have two independent adult children.

I have run my furniture manufacturing company in Kingston, in the Chicquita Ward, equally as long without a halt for over 40 years as well. So l have a trifecta of long term commitment right there.

I was born in Melbourne….
